Need big thumb for Greyhound
It has begun!

or something like that with which they say on mortal kombat. I’ve started my internship. I tried to get this started back up as soon as I got into California and start blogging again. I’ve been traveling a lot lately. The spring I was on the road with the rowing team a lot. Then, we had nationals at Lake Lanier, Georgia. It was gorgeous out there. Then a 14 hour bus ride back home. Then later that night, rode to Denver, Colorado for the ACSM Annual Conference. After 2 days or so of just mindless reading and endless walking, all I wanted to do was explore Colorado and get drunk! Then I came back on a bus, again, to Wichita after about a week in Denver, only to immediately start up classes in Stats and Strength and Conditioning. If you ever get the chance to take S&C, pass on that shit! Biggest waste of my time and money, ever, in college, and I’ve been here awhile! So just last weekend, I competed in the USRowing Masters Nationals Regatta in OKC. It was a lot of fun! First time coxing a womens only boat, and had to do an 8+ and a 4+. Then I raced in the Lightweight A 1x, but placed 4th. No medals, but the ladies made me an honorary wench! They like to say “Heave, Ho!” while spinning the boat, and to call each other wenches. I however, cannot really say the “W” word. Least not round them. Race strategy was as follows “We dont care if you cuss, just dont call us wenches”. So, yeah. So I got back from OKC on Saturday night, after leaving Wichita at an ungodly 3:30am on Friday. I was super tired to say.

And then Monday morning, had a flight to LAX. Had to take a few buses and trains to get to San Bernardino, dragging a bike box, and a roller bag and a backpack everywhere, only to find out that I could have flown into Ontario, which is only like 20 minutes away. which would have saved me, oh…6-8 FUCKIN HOURS! But honestly, say whatever shit you want bout California, people are fuckin polite here! I almost feel bad cussing so much cause everybody is pretty chill.

I live in the North part of town, and it seems like its shadier the more south you go. It’s super smoggy out here, I’m 3 miles from campus,  you cant see all the mountains, but I’m completely submersed in them. I can see them about 360 degrees. It’s not supposed to get lower than 50 degrees, ever! which I totally dig!

Been working the past 2 days for Dr. Shannon Siegel. She’s super nice and awesome! Likes to play soccer and rock climb. Been doing skinfold measurements on the guys soccer team at CSU-SB, and then entering it all into excel. Had a small snafu with a stupid command, and she figured it out for me later that day. Stupid “improvements” on excel! Tomorrow I’ll be helping out their lab tech, Sarah, do some stuff on running economy. I think I’ll eventually be doing some studies with her and a guy named Nick, on barefoot running and the xc team here. I also met Dr. Brian Haddock, another prof here who I’ll be doing work for, and I’ll probably be doing some work for another new faculty member, Pablo? Not sure. I have to work tomorrow morning, then absolutely nothing till next monday or tuesday!

Roommates are chill. Owner and his gf stay here. They’re both college age, and Kyle is a die hard Ron Paul fan. Funny cause I want to move to Texas; Not funny cause I dont really give a shit! Haha. He doesn’t push it on people which is cool. His gf Michaela is pretty cool, talkative. Have another roommate that I briefly met, that left yesterday and will be back friday, and another roommate who cuts hair and chatted my ear off last night, but hey, I’m the same way, LOOK HOW FUCKIN LONG THIS THING IS! But its funny, he like closes his eyes while he speaks sometimes, like when my grandpa is drunk! bah haha!

I’ll start posting pictures sometime later today.
